Online Written Interview
Hi there,
I am currently studying at the
University of Waikato, in New Zealand and I am seeking 3 Third Culture Kids to
voluntarily participate in an online written interview as part of my research.
The written interview will take around 60-90mins. It will be completed in two
sections and can be done at your leisure.
The aim of my research is to explore the following question.
- In what way does growing up as a Third Culture Kid (TCK) affect higher educational choice and career aspirations?
In order to do this, I will be looking into
the following aspects of TCKs thoughts, feelings and experiences.
- What influenced TCKs decisions to
attend or not attend university?
- If
they went to university, in which country did they attend university (home or
internationally) and what factors influenced this decision?
- In
what ways has growing up in a transient lifestyle created a desire to stay in
the ‘International World’ or a desire to put down roots in a particular place?
-
How do the experiences of
growing up as a TCK affect personal identity?
I am looking specifically at people who have been
away from their home country for a significant period of time (minimum of 5
years) between the ages of 5-18 years. Please note you must be over 18 years
old to participate.
To contribute a wide range
of experiences to this research, I am interested in interviewing participants
from different nationalities, cultures, and backgrounds. I will select 3
participants for this study. If you are interested in participating in this
research, I invite you to email me a brief outline of the following
information, to mikayla.carroll12@gmail.com. To keep your information confidential
please do not respond to this post as I would like to protect the identity of
